Renee Cox: Revolution/Revelation
Newport Art Museum, June 15 – October 6, 2024
This survey exhibition features works from throughout the the career of this pioneering Jamaican-American artist. In collaboration with the Cox, we reimagined 19th c rooms throughout the museum, featuring her work in conversation with history and the permanent collection. This exhibition showcased and premiered some of the artist’s new Afrofuturist works from her “Soul Culture” series and “The Signing.”
Toots Zynsky: Past/Present
Newport Art Museum, June 8 – December 1, 2024
This retrospective showcases archival works by world renowned glass artist Toots Zynsky and also new works from her “Endangered Species” series. Zynsky created the filet-de-verre technique, which we illustrated through videos of her process and with teaching examples. Zynsky’s spectacular work illustrates the expressive possibilities of the medium of glass.
