(2023 – 2024)
While looking through early 20th century women’s magazines, I discovered sepia- toned sections featuring fashionable debutantes, lavish gardens and mansions, and wealthy families. By combining these magazine pages with collected wooden buttons, I imagine the multifaceted personalities behind the flat brown pages. In my art, these individuals are envisioned as as unbuttoned and unbound by social and historical conventions.
