
Francine Weiss, Ph.D. is an art consultant, curator, and artist with 25 years of experience in curatorial and leadership positions at art museums and 15 years of undergraduate and graduate-level teaching experience. As the Director of Curatorial Affairs & Chief Curator at the Newport Art Museum (2016-2024), she reimagined the exhibitions and publications programs to be more inclusive, engaging, and relevant. During her tenure, she increased the representation of BIPOC, LGBTQI+, and women artists in exhibitions and collections. For the past 12 years, she has also advised and consulted with artists. She has a PhD in American art and the history of photography from Boston University and a BA from Wellesley College in English.
